2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale Refresh: Sharpened Look and Enhanced Personality
The 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale has received a refresh that enhances its look and injects more personality into the brand’s compact luxury SUV. The updates include a redesigned front fascia, new paint options, upgraded interior finishes, and a new Sport Speciale edition.
A Bolder Front End
The Tonale’s revised front fascia is highlighted by a new concave “scudetto” grille, inspired by the classic Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. This gives the SUV a more aggressive and athletic stance, with wider front and rear tracks and a reduced front overhang that enhances its proportions. The lower intakes have been reshaped to emphasize the Tonale’s width and connection to Alfa’s motorsport heritage.
New Sport Speciale Edition
The new Sport Speciale trim is the sportiest Tonale yet, featuring silver accents on the side skirts and rear bumper, gloss-black Brembo calipers, and new 20-inch three-hole wheels that nod to Alfa’s classic “telephone dial” design. Inside, the Sport Speciale gets black-and-pearl Alcantara seats, contrast stitching, and a dash wrapped in matching Alcantara, giving the cabin a more tailored and performance-oriented vibe.
Updated Interior with New Color Options
The Tonale’s cabin has been refined with upgraded materials and expanded color choices. For the first time, buyers can choose red leather seats, joining the existing black leather option. New stitching patterns on the dashboard, doors, and armrests give the interior a more upscale feel. Front seats are available with heating, ventilation, and power lumbar adjustment, while Alcantara and leather upholstery continue to give the Tonale an edge over more mainstream compact SUVs.
Expanded Color Palette
The 2026 Tonale introduces three new exterior colors: Rosso Brera, Verde Monza, and Giallo Ocra. These join returning favorites like Alfa Black, Misano Blue, and Grigio Ascari. The updated paint palette accentuates the Tonale’s sculpted lines and sporty proportions, while the optional black roof provides added contrast and customization.
Under the Hood
The Tonale continues with its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque through a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard Q4 all-wheel drive. A balanced chassis, available dual-mode suspension, and precise 13.6:1 steering ratio ensure that the Tonale remains one of the most engaging SUVs in its segment.
Simplified Lineup
The 2026 Tonale lineup is available in Sprint, Veloce, and Sport Speciale trims. Here’s a breakdown of each:
- Sprint: 18-inch wheels, gloss black body kit, LED lighting, aluminum pedals, and fabric seats with Alfa Romeo logos. Options include leather upholstery, a black roof, and ventilated seats.
- Veloce: 19-inch wheels, red Brembo brakes, adaptive suspension, power liftgate, and ventilated leather seats in black or red.
- Sport Speciale: Adds silver exterior accents, 20-inch wheels, Alcantara interior, and exclusive ambient lighting.
The 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale will arrive in North American showrooms at the end of 2025.
