2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Revamp: Cheaper and More Efficient
The revived Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer haven’t been a success, so for 2026, Jeep is rethinking its strategy. The company is dropping the “Wagoneer” name and making the Grand Wagoneer more affordable. In addition to a facelift, Jeep is also introducing a range-extended EV (REEV) powertrain from the upcoming Ram 1500 REV.
Pricing and Trim Levels
The new Grand Wagoneer starts at $64,740, a significant reduction from the previous model’s starting price of $87,040. The trim levels have also been simplified, with the following options available:
| Model | Price |
|---|---|
| Grand Wagoneer 4×2 | $64,740 |
| Grand Wagoneer 4×2 LWB | $67,740 |
| Grand Wagoneer 4×4 | $67,740 |
| Grand Wagoneer 4×4 LWB | $70,740 |
| Limited Altitude 4×4 | $73,735 |
| Limited Altitude 4×4 LWB | $76,735 |
| Summit Obsidian 4×4 | $95,985 |
| Summit Obsidian 4×4 LWB | $98,985 |
Powertrain Options
The base engine remains Stellantis’ 3.0-liter twin-turbo “Hurricane” inline-six, producing 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque. The REEV option, which will be available later in the model year, features a 92-kilowatt-hour battery pack, a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, and a 120-kilowatt generator. This setup is expected to deliver over 500 miles of range and produce 647 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque, making it a formidable competitor to the Cadillac Escalade-V.
Design and Features
The 2026 Grand Wagoneer features a new front fascia with a light-up grille inspired by the electric Wagoneer S. The exterior also gets new colors, wheel options, and dark trim, replacing the previous chrome accents. Inside, the interior remains largely unchanged, with the addition of a new color option and a larger heads-up display.
Availability and Pricing for REEV
Jeep hasn’t announced pricing for the REEV or confirmed an exact availability date. However, the company is expected to reveal more information in the near future.
Conclusion
The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer represents a significant shift in the company’s strategy, as it attempts to win back its old customers with a more affordable and efficient offering. With the addition of a REEV powertrain, Jeep is poised to take on the competition in the luxury SUV market.
