Enthusiasts from across Europe recently convened at Switzerland’s stunning Bernina Pass for the Bernina Gran Turismo hill climb event. This year’s highlight was the breathtaking appearance of the 1600 hp Bugatti Bolide.
Bugatti’s legacy at the Bernina Hill Climb dates back to the 1930s, with iconic models like the Type 35 B and Type 59 conquering the winding roads over the decades. For 2024, owner Fritz Burkard unveiled his powerful 1600 hp Bolide. Joining the excitement were Bugatti test driver Andy Wallace and Rimac CEO Mate Rimac.

Engineered exclusively for the racetrack, the Bugatti Bolide made a rare detour onto public roads for this thrilling ascent.
At the heart of the Bolide lies an 8.0-liter W16 engine, delivering a staggering 1825 hp and 1475 lb-ft of torque—more than sufficient to tackle the challenging 2235-meter-high Bernina Pass.
