Mini has lifted the veil on the first gasoline-powered versions of the redesigned 2025 Mini Cooper hatchback, following the debut of its electric counterpart last year. Scheduled to hit U.S. showrooms in March and July, the Cooper S and base Cooper models mark the fourth generation of Mini’s modern hatch lineup. Priced from $33,195 and $29,945 respectively, these models include a mandatory $995 destination charge and are expected to be among the brand’s final gasoline-powered offerings, as Mini gears up for an all-electric future later this decade.

In the U.S. market, both Cooper variants will be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine, delivering 201 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque in the Cooper S. The base Cooper’s power output is yet to be disclosed. Notably, manual transmissions will no longer be offered, despite Mini’s historical association with them.

Externally, the 2025 Cooper models showcase an evolutionary design with a larger octagonal grille, reshaped LED headlights, and customizable matrix taillights. Inside, a circular 9.4-inch OLED infotainment screen dominates the dashboard, complemented by a wireless charging pad and advanced tech features including augmented-reality navigation and voice control.

Mini enthusiasts can anticipate additional body styles and the arrival of the redesigned Mini Countryman crossover in U.S. markets later this year. With its blend of iconic design elements and modern technology, the 2025 Mini Cooper aims to captivate drivers as Mini embraces the shift towards electric mobility.
