Genesis GV90 Spied with Coach Doors Open
The Genesis GV90, a range-topping electric crossover, has been spotted with its coach doors open, giving us a glimpse into its innovative design. The luxury vehicle eschews a B-pillar, featuring a massive side opening instead.
Key Features of the Genesis GV90
- No B-pillar, just like the Neolun concept
- Massive side opening for effortless entry and egress
- All-new platform expected to underpin the EV when it debuts
The GV90’s coach doors open and close automatically, making it easy to get in and out of the vehicle. Genesis previously mentioned that B-pillarless coach doors provide “much more open interior space” and maximize “convenient passenger access.”
Interior and Design
The latest spy photos reveal a luxurious interior with power front and rear seats, blue and purple leather, metallic accents, and contrast piping. The second-row features captain’s chairs separated by a large center console, which houses a wireless smartphone charger and an integrated tablet.
Platform and Powertrain
The GV90 is expected to ride on the new eM platform, an evolution of the existing E-GMP platform. Although full details remain unclear, the GV90 is likely to be more advanced than the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9, with a more sophisticated powertrain and battery pack.
The Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9 feature a 110.3 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing up to 422 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, with a range of 311 miles. The GV90 is likely to offer similar or improved performance and range.
Overall, the Genesis GV90 promises to be a luxurious and innovative electric crossover, with a unique design and advanced features.
