Tesla Cybertruck Wheel Cover Issue: What You Need to Know

Posted on February 28, 2024February 28, 2024 by thecruisectrlr

Recently, an issue was highlighted with Tesla Cybertruck wheel covers adorned with rubber extensions. The wheel covers were found to contact the tire sidewall flexed while driving, prompting concerns about potential damage. While Tesla has reportedly removed these covers from the market to address the issue, an X user named Nic Cruz Patane shared insights on a new set of covers featuring a refreshed design.

These covers, however, are not the redesigned versions intended for the top-tier Cybertrucks. As of now, the Cybertruck Foundation Series is the only model available, featuring 20-inch premium wheels with Goodyear Wrangler A/T tires. Patane suggests that the smaller covers may come with the Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires, indicating a potential shift towards a more street-focused tire option.

The new covers differ notably from the previous version, featuring slats near the edges reminiscent of brake cooling vents and a recessed center cap. Despite not being as futuristic as the premium covers, they offer a sleek design alternative. While these covers have yet to appear in Tesla’s accessories shop, they serve as a base comparison for the upcoming redesigned premium covers.
