Bugatti is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated successor to the Chiron later this year, boasting a groundbreaking hybrid powertrain with a newly developed V-16 engine. Mate Rimac, head of Bugatti Rimac parent company, recently shared insights into the project’s progress, confirming that testing of the V-16 engine began in late 2022. Prototype engine components have been undergoing rigorous testing, with full engines already operational on dynos by November. The upcoming hypercar, set to be revealed in June, will maintain Bugatti’s signature mid-engine layout and carbon-fiber monocoque construction. Designed by Achim Anschiedt, the hypercar marks a significant milestone as Bugatti embraces hybrid technology under Rimac’s leadership.
