LG Display is set to unveil its next-generation automotive displays at CES, focusing on the trend of “screenification” in automobiles. While specific details are yet to be disclosed, LG mentioned the introduction of slidable and foldable OLEDs installed in the back of seats, offering retractable displays that can be hidden or extended based on demand. The company also teased images showcasing a rear seat entertainment system with retractable screens and a freestanding display combining a digital instrument cluster with an infotainment system. LG aims to showcase Advanced Thin OLED and Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon technology at CES, emphasizing competitive pricing and enhanced display capabilities. Additionally, the company plans to introduce a “Switchable Privacy Mode” to prevent driver distraction by automatically adjusting the viewing angle of the front passenger screen.
