Ford Recalls: 625,000 Vehicles Affected

Ford has issued four new recalls, affecting nearly 625,000 vehicles. The largest recall targets 332,778 Mustangs from the 2015-2017 model years in cold-weather states.

The Recalls

  • Mustang Recall (332,778 vehicles): Water and road salt can corrode the front seat belt anchor pretensioner cables, increasing the risk of injury during a crash. Dealers will remove some carpeting and underlayment, inspect, and replace the seat belt assemblies as necessary. The fix is not expected until January 2026.
  • F-Series Recall (291,901 vehicles): The 360-degree camera system may not show a proper rearview image in certain lighting conditions. Dealers will update the image processing module software, but the update is not expected until March.
  • Bronco and Ranger Recall (9 vehicles): Windshields may detach during an accident due to paint masking tape being left on the windshield frame during assembly. Dealers will remove the windshield, remove any remaining masking tape, and reinstall the windshield.
  • Mustang Recall (3 vehicles): A previous recall was not completed correctly, and the Body Control Module software was not installed properly. Dealers will install the correct software to ensure the brake fluid sensor diagnostics work correctly.

Key Details

  • Ford has issued 120 recalls this year, surpassing General Motors’ total.
  • The recalls affect various Ford models, including Mustang, Bronco, Ranger, and F-Series.
  • Dealers will perform the necessary repairs, but in some cases, parts or software updates are not expected until early 2026.
