Ford continues its journey with the Mustang Mach-E, introducing the 2024 model with notable enhancements despite the year already being in full swing. Following a recent price adjustment for the 2023 models, Ford aims to reinvigorate interest in its electric crossover by offering increased range estimates and a Performance Upgrade option for the GT trim.
All variants of the Mach-E see improvements in range, with non-GT models boasting a 20-mile increase to 250 miles with the standard battery and 320 miles with the extended-range unit. The GT variant gains 10 miles of range, now totaling 280 miles on a single charge, while the new Mach-E Rally debuts with 265 miles of range for the 2024 model year.
In addition to enhanced range, Ford highlights a 20% faster charging capability for the Mach-E, significantly reducing charging times. The extended-range battery now achieves a 10-80% charge in just over 36 minutes, an improvement of 8.8 minutes compared to previous models. Standard-range versions can charge from 10 to 80% in a little over 32 minutes, 5.7 minutes faster than before. The Mach-E is also compatible with over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers, and updated navigation functionality simplifies locating open charging stations using Android Auto or Apple Maps.
Ford’s acclaimed BlueCruise hands-free driving assistance system remains available across all trims, while enhancements to the infotainment system include a new interface and streamlined controls for USB and Bluetooth features. A consolidated settings screen reduces user complexity by consolidating all options onto one page.
Pricing for the 2024 Mach-E lineup starts at $39,995 for the Select trim in standard-range rear-wheel drive configuration. Adding all-wheel drive increases the price to $43,495, and opting for the extended-range battery raises it to $46,995. The Premium trim begins at $43,995, while the GT variant starts at $53,995. The all-new Rally trim is priced at $59,995, exclusively available with the extended battery and all-wheel drive.
