Hertz Shifts Gears: Sells a Third of Its EV Fleet Amid Weak Demand, Eyes Gas-Powered Cars

Car rental giant Hertz is making a significant pivot in its vehicle fleet strategy, planning to sell 20,000 electric vehicles (EVs), which accounts for a third of its US EV fleet. The decision comes as a response to weak demand and high repair costs associated with battery-powered vehicles. This dramatic shift follows Hertz’s ambitious plan in 2021 to purchase 100,000 Tesla vehicles.
