The highly anticipated entry-level Mercedes-Benz EV, known as the “one-liter car” for its impressive long-range capabilities, was recently spotted undergoing testing near the Arctic Circle. This electric CLA model is poised to rival the Tesla Model 3 and marks a significant step in Mercedes-Benz’s electric vehicle lineup.
Mercedes’ Next-Gen EV
Mercedes introduced the electric CLA Concept last September, signaling the beginning of a new series of entry-level EVs from the luxury automaker. With an estimated driving range exceeding 466 miles (750 km) based on Mercedes’ advanced MMA platform, the electric CLA sets a new standard for efficiency in its class. Its energy consumption of approximately 5.2 mi/kWh (12 kWh/ 100 km) earned it the moniker “one-liter car.”
Advanced Features
Built on the innovative MMA platform, derived from the ultra-efficient Vision EQXX, the electric CLA promises exceptional performance and range. Equipped with an 800V system, it supports rapid charging, offering up to 248 miles (400 km) of range in just 15 minutes. Mercedes touts the CLA EV as a symbol of its design evolution, featuring iconic design elements that redefine modern luxury.
