Porsche has given us a first glimpse into the upcoming Cayenne Electric, which is set to make its official debut by the end of the year. The all-electric SUV will join the existing lineup of gasoline and plug-in hybrid Cayenne models. However, Porsche is distinguishing the EV with a completely revamped interior that combines digital innovation with its signature sporty flair.
At the heart of the cabin lies Porsche’s new Flow Display – a curved OLED screen that seamlessly integrates into the center console. This is paired with a fully digital 14.25-inch instrument cluster and an optional 14.9-inch passenger display, designed for entertainment and app control. Additionally, a head-up display featuring augmented reality is available, projecting navigation and lane guidance directly onto the road ahead. According to Porsche, the new digital cockpit enables drivers to personalize layouts using widgets and color themes. Furthermore, a new AI-powered voice assistant can control a range of functions, including climate, lighting, media, and navigation.
The Cayenne Electric’s interior isn’t just about screens; it’s also packed with new comfort features. These include electrically adjustable rear seats, Mood Modes that adjust lighting, sound, and climate to suit different driving moods, and surface heating that warms seats, armrests, and door panels for a more even and efficient cabin temperature. The SUV also boasts a massive sliding panoramic roof – the largest ever on a Porsche – which uses liquid crystal technology to switch between clear, matte, and semi-transparent settings at the touch of a button.
The Cayenne Electric offers an unprecedented level of customization, with 13 interior color combinations, four interior packages, and five accent options available. Buyers can choose from new shades like Magnesium Grey, Lavender, and Sage Grey. Alternatively, they can opt for a leather-free Race-Tex interior featuring a Pepita print, a nod to Porsche’s heritage. Decorative trims, stitching, and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur options enable near-endless personalization. For the truly unique, the Sonderwunsch program is available for one-off creations.
In terms of technology, the Cayenne Electric features the new Porsche Digital Key, which utilizes Ultra Wideband (UWB) to unlock the SUV using a smartphone or smartwatch. This key can be securely shared with up to seven users through a dedicated app. To enhance the passenger experience, Porsche is expanding its streaming and gaming capabilities, effectively turning the Cayenne Electric into a connected lounge on wheels.
The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric is poised to raise the bar for luxury EV SUVs, thanks to its cutting-edge interior, innovative digital operating system, and vast personalization options. Full specifications and performance details will be revealed closer to its official debut later this year.
