Subaru has reignited hopes for its iconic STI performance badge with a new teaser video released on its Japanese social media channels. The brief clip shows close-ups of the STI logo, quick shots of a blue WRX-like sedan (or hatchback) navigating snowy roads, and the signature rumble of a Subaru boxer engine. • Clearly visible STI badging
  • A blueprint-like silhouette of a rally-inspired vehicle
  • No technical specifications confirmed, though the engine note suggests traditional combustion power

Speculation remains divided on whether this signals a full STI revival or another “Performance Pack” cosmetic upgrade like Subaru’s recent international offerings. While the brand previously hinted at electrified STI models, this teaser’s gasoline-like soundtrack contradicts that direction. Recent concepts like the Performance-B and Performance-E showcased Subaru’s performance ambitions but are unlikely to reach production soon.

Despite Subaru’s cautious approach to performance models in recent years, enthusiasts remain hopeful this teaser could mark the return of a beloved rally-bred nameplate.
