Toyota’s electric vehicle (EV) sales in the US saw a modest increase of 9% in the first quarter of 2024, with only 1,897 units delivered. Despite this uptick, Toyota’s EV figures remain significantly lower compared to its total Q1 sales of over 486,000 vehicles. The bZ4X, Toyota’s sole EV, accounted for a mere 0.4% of its overall US sales. Meanwhile, hybrid sales surged, representing 36.4% of Toyota’s sales volume in March. While Toyota has plans for next-gen EVs and battery tech, its current EV offerings continue to trail behind competitors in the US market.
